Here's instructions on how to make a toy frog out of a business card. The cool thing is, the froggie actually hops! Froggies are excellent diversions should you get stuck in a really boring meeting or next to a hyperactive child on an airplane.
You can make froggies out of any sort of card-like paper, but for the best results (size, aesthetics, jumpy-ness), use a business card with a different colored front and back.
StartGet a business card. For these photos, I highlighted the edge of the front side of my business card to show the front and back better. |
Step 1Lay the card, colored side down, and fold one corner down diagonally. Open it back up after you've creased it. |

Step 2Repeat with the other corner, and again, open it back up. |

Step 3Flip the card over (to colored side up) and fold down horizontally as shown. Crease it, and open it back up. |

Step 4Flip the card over again (to white side up) and press where all the creases meet. The sides of the card should "flip up" slightly. |

Step 5The card should now naturally fold as shown. Bring the top edge of the card down, while bringing the sides towards the center. |
Step 6Continue folding along the creases until you get something that 's shaped like a house. |
Step 7Fold up the corners as shown. These become the "arms" of your froggie. |

Step 8Flip the card over (to colored side up) and fold over the sides. This will become your froggie's "back". |

Step 9Flip your froggie over again and fold up the froggie's "legs". |
Step 10Fold down your froggie's "feet". |

FinishFlip over one more time (so that your froggie's "feet" and "arms" touch the ground) and you're done! |
To Make Your Froggie Jump...Press your froggie's back with a slight downward stroke. Adjust legs for a high jump or long jump. |
